The Wheeling Park District Preschool is guided by the philosophy of “learning through play”. Through activities in art, games, storytelling, cooking, movement and songs, children develop self-control, physical coordination and social skills. Children are exposed to letters, numbers, colors, shapes and readiness skills in an encouraging, nurturing setting.
The Wheeling Park District Preschool provides a secure and supportive environment for developing a love for school.

Preschool Registration Information
Registration for the 2021-2022 school year starts Monday, February 8.
All children registering for Preschool programs must meet the age requirement for the class. A non-refundable, non-transferable $25 registration fee per child is required at the time of registration. This fee is not applied toward the monthly tuition. Payments can be made in full or through our nine-month (August-April) auto-withdrawal plan.
For register forms, or if you have questions about our Preschool program or would like to schedule a tour, contact Bella Licciardello, Recreation Services Manager at firstname.lastname@example.org or 847-465-2940.
Social learning goes hand in hand with language development, a key task for our busy 2’s. We enrich the day with songs, rhymes, stories, activity time, and art projects. This is a great way for children to learn how to be away from their parents and how to play with others. Learning is natural and easy, with lots of choices and opportunities to explore. A parent or care-giver will be asked to attend first class only. Students enrolled will be given priority registration into our 2022/2023 Preschool program.

Four and Fives
The four-year-old curriculum develops skills needed for entering kindergarten in area school districts. Our program stresses the development of independence and cognitive skills through learning centers, structured activities, socialization, cooperative and dramatic play, and sharing. In this final step before kindergarten, make sure your eager learner is as prepared as possible!
